☕ One Last Coffee Meet-Up for 2025

Our fall and winter classes have now wrapped up, and as we move into the holiday season, I want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment, good humour, and willingness to keep moving—even on the chilly days.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2026. May the new year bring lots of bending, twisting, stretching, balancing, and moments of calm and connection—both on and off the mat. ☕ One Last Coffee Meet-Up for 2025 I’m going to try and slide in one more coffee meet-up before we say goodbye to 2025:
  • Date: Tuesday, December 30
  • Time: 10:30 AM
  • Location: Fortino’s – Eastgate Square
They have a great selection of coffees and teas at very reasonable prices, along with a nice variety of snacks to enjoy with your hot or cold drink. Please let me know if you plan to attend so I can reserve the correct number of seats. If I don’t see you there, wishing you all the very best as we head into 2026. 🧘 Winter Session Reminders
  • The East End Yoga website will be updated this week.
  • A $25.00 deposit saves your spot on the floor.
  • Classes begin Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM.
  • All remaining classes start the week of January 12, 2026.
🥧 Meat Pie Orders I’m also collecting orders for meat pies, available for pickup on:

Thank you again for a wonderful year of yoga, connection, and community. Keep gently moving over the break, and I look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year. Warmest wishes, Darlene East End Yoga 🧘‍♀️

🌿 East End Yoga – End of Fall Newsletter 🌿

Hello Dear Yogis, Well, we missed September — blinked, and boom — it was gone! Now we’re deep into fall, even though these warm, sunny days still feel like summer.   🍂 Fall Classes We’re well into our fall season of yoga, and I’m happy to share that we have six participants signed up for the Ball Yoga class — it starts tonight, October 6th, 2025! It’s been a couple of years since we’ve offered this specialty class, and I’m excited to bring it back. The website has been updated with the full fall schedule. Note: There will be no classes on October 14 & 15. ☕ Community Connections To kick off September, a small group of us ventured down the Grand River and enjoyed a lovely lunch cruise. The day was filled with music — a lively fiddling band called Blazing fiddles  — and a craft market that made for some fun shopping. It was truly a spectacular outing! 📸 (Photos to be inserted) 🧘 Special Note – The Breath Our breath is our most powerful tool — always with us, always ready to bring us back home. When life feels busy or the mind feels scattered, take a moment to pause and notice your breath. Inhale calm, exhale tension. With each conscious breath, we reconnect body, mind, and spirit — returning to that quiet space within where peace lives. 📅 Save the Date – Next Coffee Meet-Up Our next coffee meet-up will take us up the escarpment on Concession Street to Incline Coffee ☕ 🗓 Thursday, October 30th, 2025 – 10:30 AM Please note the new date and new time! We can carpool from the church parking lot. Street parking is available for $2.00 per hour. Incline Coffee is located across from Rosie’s Burgers and next to the Pink Shop – The Parlour. The space is unique — four eateries in one, known collectively as The Town Hall. Take a drive or a walk and soak in the fall colours — after all, Fall is my favourite colour! 🍁 With gratitude, Darlene East End Yoga

🌿 East End Yoga – End of Summer Newsletter – August

Hello Dear Yogis, As summer winds down and autumn begins to unfold, I’d like to share reflections, updates, and upcoming opportunities with you.

✨ Summer Reflections

This summer has been filled with sunshine, movement, and community. From gentle outdoor practices to our indoor Wednesday morning stretch/weight yoga class and small group coffee meet-ups, each gathering has been a reminder of the joy yoga brings—on and off the mat. Thank you for showing up, sharing your energy, and keeping our community connected. This August, we explored partner poses in the park—and what an incredible stretch and deep opening they brought! Many students discovered new ease and depth in their practice. Here are just a few of the benefits: 🌿 Physical Benefits
  • Deeper Stretching & Alignment – Gentle support helps you access fuller stretches.
  • Improved Balance & Stability – Builds core strength and steadiness.
  • Increased Body Awareness – Feedback from a partner highlights alignment.
  • Safe Exploration – Encourages confidence in challenging poses.
💜 Emotional & Mental Benefits
  • Connection & Trust – Builds communication as you literally lean on each other.
  • Stress Relief – Playfulness helps ease tension.
  • Mindfulness & Presence – Greater awareness of movement and breath.
  • Fun & Joy – Brings laughter and lightness to practice.
👥 Social Benefits
  • Community Building – Strengthens bonds in classes and workshops.
  • Supportive Practice – Encourages cooperation over competition.
Common partner poses include forward folds, double downward dog, supported backbends, and seated twists.

☕ Coffee Break

Do you have a favorite coffee shop you’ve been keeping secret? I’m looking for 10–12 new or favorite spots to explore together this upcoming yoga season—send me your suggestions!

🤝 Community Connections

In July, a small but mighty group gathered at Simply Italian Bakery for pizza, cheesecake, and laughter. In August, we welcomed new members at The Coffee Brick on Parkdale and enjoyed sampling Korean treats. These gatherings have been such a joy—more are planned for fall! Ongoing Community Support:
  • Birth Kit Assembly – Saturday, October 4, 8:30 AM–1:00 PM at Pioneer Memorial
  • Donation Reminder – Please bring socks, women’s underwear, sports bras, etc. for delivery to women’s shelters in December. (Boxes will be packed end of November.)

🌸 Special Note

Yoga is more than postures—it’s about creating space for kindness, stillness, and balance. As fall gets busy, may you carry this spirit of presence into your days.
