East End Yoga Presents: Children’s Yoga with Robin
About Me
My name is Robin Cuthbert and I work with the Hamilton Catholic School Board as an Educational Assistant. For 10 years I work with individuals diagnosed with Mental, Physical and Learning disabilities in the school system. Throughout my time working for the Catholic School Board, I have noticed that it is not just children with disabilities that deal with anxiety. I want to bring something positive into young people’s lives that will help them cope and strive for their own personal wellness.
I have been practicing Yoga myself for 3 years before I pursued my 200 hour Integrative Yoga Therapy Teacher Training (IYT). After attaining the training and knowledge of Yoga, I began to notice the challenges that children face daily. I realized that not all children have the coping tools or strategies to overcome anxiety and challenges in a regular school day. That is why in August of 2015 I decided to pursue my love of Yoga and received my 95 hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training. I wish to give children the tools to read the signs of their body, mind and breath to help them become more aware of their thoughts and emotions. Helping them to build confidence and empowering them to overcome the obstacles that come their way.
